You have a longing, a wish to know why you are here. What are you meant to be doing? Everything is “OK” right now, but you have this emptiness inside. Something is calling you, a deeper part of you is calling you to awaken. To awaken to the reason why you were born. Your life purpose.
We are not brought up to ask ourselves the essential questions about what we would really really love to do. What is that thing we would do all day, what inspires us? What is our life purpose? And because of that, we dismiss any ideas of doing what we love as silly. Because we need to be serious and focus on making money. And making money doesn’t come from doing what you love – that’s for hobbies, right?
If you are just focused on earning money, like our society has brought you up to. Then you will never answer that deep need, and all the money in the world cannot fill that need.
So, the first step to finding your life purpose is to stop looking outside for of you. Stop saying “Well I could do x, y or z”. Or “So-and-so said I would be good at X”. These are things outside of yourself.
The best way to begin the discovery of your life purpose is to find out…
- What has your life been teaching you? What have you learned from your challenges and experiences?
- What has your unique life experience brought to you in terms of skills and wisdom?
- How has your life helped you forge your natural talent?
- What if your university of life telling you?
You may think that to have a talent means things like singing, playing a musical instrument, writing – and I would love for you to realise that you can be talented in anything – organising, finances, negotiating. These are also talents. So start by thinking about your unique essence. What is it that you can do that no-one else can do just how you do it.
Sometimes it’s so simple that we think it’s too easy – and that’s your heart speaking. That’s your heart saying “it’s that easy!”. It’s your head that likes to make it complicated. So use these questions, start the inner reflection and satisfy that deep calling to enable you live from your life purpose.
